Biographical History

Dorothy Pike Putnam Brown (1925-2008) was an active participant of life, who enjoyed family, friends, and family history.

Dorothy Pike Putnam Brown was born on April 1, 1925, in Eureka Utah, to Julian Alan and Leah Jones Pike. She attended Ogden High School, graduating in the class of 1942. Graduated from Weber College with a degree in Early Childhood Development. She cherished her affiliation with the sorority Beta Zeta Tau where she made lifelong friendships.

Dorothy married Glen R. Putnam November 6, 1943 during World War II. They had four children, settling in Holladay, UT, later divorced. She later married Thelone "Tony" D. Brown on January 21, 1978. They built a wonderful life together, traveled the world and had 31 years of beautiful experiences.

She worked as the Olympic High School Registrar. Dorothy and Tony were active participants in the SLC Retired UAL Employees Assoc. Family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed community activities, most recently the DUP and DAR. She loved dancing, reading, history, bridge club, her wide range of friends, staying abreast of politics and current events. She was an avid genealogist who researched and authored family histories, often retelling stories keeping our history alive.

Dorothy died on October 30, 2008, in Holladay, Utah.
