Biographical History

Ann Gent Brown (1837-1912) was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and immigrant in Utah.

Ann Gent was born December 16, 1837 to George West Gent and Grace Gent in South Normanton, Derbyshire, England. She married Samuel Naylor on May 25, 1858 in South Normanton and had two children, George and Charles, before Samuel died in 1861. She married Joseph "R" Brown in 1866 in England and had one daughter, Mary Ann Brown. Joseph, Ann, George, and Mary Ann all emigrated to America, leaving England on September 4, 1880 on the ship "Nevada," with Charles coming a few months later. They settled in Providence, Utah, where Ann died on June 28, 1912.
