Oct. 10, 1805 in Wallkill, New York; parents, Ephraim Everett Jr. and Deborah Corwin Everett; worked as a ship carpenter on the New York City docks; Everett was married three times: first married Eliza Ann Elting in 1831 and they had two children; Eliza died; married Orpha Maria Redford in 1838 had two children; married 1852 to Hannah Gregory, which also produced two children; raised in a Presbyterian family; joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sept. 1, 1837; one of the earliest members of the N.Y. branch in the Church; 1842, president of the churches in Little Falls, N.J., and Mead's Basin, N.J.; 1843, Nauvoo, Ill.; carpentry skills; work on the construction of the Nauvoo Temple; 1846, bishop; Salt Lake City Eighth Ward; captain of fifty; helped lead the trek West; met up with his family along the way; settled in the Salt Lake Valley; he and his family were sent to St. George, Utah; developed the land into a liveable environment; helped build the St. George Temple; d. Jan. 12, 1885 in St. George, Utah)
