Mary Emily Gifford in St. George, Utah, Dec. 17, 1902; m. Partha Annn Gubler in 1931; during their early married life, the Russells worked as farmers, growing their own food, and merchants, selling food to other families for a profit; musician and would play the music at weddings and dances; he and his wife moved to Springdale; successfully petitioned the local school boards to build Springdale's first high school; chairman of the citizens committee and a notary public in Springdale; 1920-1943, park ranger in Zion National Park; World War II, worked at Topaz War Relocation Center; divorced his second wife; d.
