Biography

LeRoy Bunnell (1901-1978) was an agriculture teacher from Utah.

LeRoy Bunnell was born October 13, 1901, in Provo, Utah, to Leslie Lamond and Ellen B. Johnson Bunnell. Bunnell graduated in Agronomy from Brigham Young University in 1928. He was involved with Future Farmers of America from 1937 until the 1950s. Later, he taught agriculture at Bear River High School and was the elected treasurer of the National Vocational Agricultural Teachers Association. He married Mildred Potter in Salt Lake City on September 25, 1929. He and his family lived in Iran for two years where he taught agricultural practices under the United States Point 4 Program. LeRoy Bunnell and his wife traveled often during the 1970s. He passed away in Tremonton, Utah, on December 25, 1978.

Scope and Contents

Contains one notebook with handwritten notes, titled "Notes on Life History" by LeRoy Bunnell, 1972. Also contains one LeRoy Bunnell scrapbook, including clippings, printed ephemera, letters, and photographs about LeRoy's career in agriculture, the family's time in Iran, and life and travels with Mildred. Many pages are dedicated to sympathy cards sent to Mildred upon LeRoy's death. Materials dated approximately 1937 to 1979.
