Mildred Potter Bunnell (1905-2001) was a teacher and mother.

Mildred Potter Bunnell was born in Park City, Utah on October 21, 1905, to George Melbourne Potter and Rebecca Sowards. She completed her early education in Bancroft, Idaho and later received a pharmacy degree from the Idaho Technical Institute in Pocatello, Idaho. She married LeRoy Bunnell in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 25, 1929. They had three children and lived in various places in Utah, but also notably lived in Tehran, Iran for five years. While there, Mildred learned to read and speak the Farsi language. She also spoke Spanish, Russian, and French. She spent some time teaching at the American School while in Iran. Mildred died August 1, 2001, in Utah.

Scope and Contents

Contains one notebook with handwritten notes, titled "Notes on Life History" by LeRoy Bunnell, 1972. Also contains one LeRoy Bunnell scrapbook, including clippings, printed ephemera, letters, and photographs about LeRoy's career in agriculture, the family's time in Iran, and life and travels with Mildred. Many pages are dedicated to sympathy cards sent to Mildred upon LeRoy's death. Materials dated approximately 1937 to 1979.
