Biographical History

Donald Q. Cannon (1936- ) was a religion professor at Brigham Young University.

Donald Q. Cannon was born on December 24, 1936, to Quayle Jr. and Fay Allred Cannon. Cannon served as a North Germany full-time missionary from 1957-1959 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married to JoAnn McGinnis and they have six children. Cannon became a part of the Church History and Doctrine Faculty at Brigham Young University in 1973 and retired from Brigham Young University in 2007.

Scope and Contents

Includes research materials gathered by Donald Q. Cannon that relate to the pineries in Wisconsin which supplied Nauvoo with lumber. Sawmills in Wisconsin cut the lumber, which was then floated down the Mississippi River in rafts until it reached Nauvoo. Materials are dated 1981.
