Biographical History

Donald Q. Cannon (1936- ) was a religion professor at Brigham Young University.

Donald Q. Cannon was born on December 24, 1936, to Quayle Jr. and Fay Allred Cannon. Cannon served as a North Germany full-time missionary from 1957-1959 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married to JoAnn McGinnis and they have six children. Cannon became a part of the Church History and Doctrine Faculty at Brigham Young University in 1973 and retired from Brigham Young University in 2007.

Contains research from the publication of two books: Sacred Places: A Comprehensive Guide to LDS Historical Sites and the Encyclopedia of Latter-day Saint History. Also contains a typed manuscript of the book Latter-day Prophets and the Constitution. Donald Q. Cannon co-authored Sacred Places, co-edited the Encyclopedia, and edited Latter-day Prophets.
