Donald Q. Cannon (1936- ) was a religion professor at Brigham Young University.

Donald Q. Cannon was born on December 24, 1936, to Quayle Jr. and Fay Allred Cannon. Cannon served as a North Germany full-time missionary from 1957-1959 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married to JoAnn McGinnis and they have six children. Cannon became a part of the Church History and Doctrine Faculty at Brigham Young University in 1973 and retired from Brigham Young University in 2007.

Scope and Contents Includes research materials collected by Donald Q. Cannon that relate to the city of Nauvoo, Illinois. Nauvoo was founded in 1839 in the area previously known as Commerce, Illinois, by members of the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints. The city served as the center of the Church until 1846, when the main body of Church members left the city due to hostility from the locals.
