Biography
Henry A. Boller (1836-1902) was an American author and businessman.
Henry A. Boller was born August 17, 1836, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Henry J. Boller and Anna Margaretta Pancoast. Henry A. Boller traveled to St. Louis in 1857 to investigate opportunities in the fur trade, and worked in St. Louis at Frost, Todd & Co. as a clerk in 1858. In 1860, Boller became a partner in a new fur trade company in St. Louis, working in North Dakota to build the business. The company dissolved in 1862, and Boller returned to Philadelphia, where he met his future wife, Mary Parsons. After spending time in the Montana gold fields, Boller returned to Philadelphia and married Mary Parsons on November 15, 1866, in New York. Boller wrote “Among the Indians: Four Years on the Upper Missouri, 1858-1862,” in 1867. Boller moved his family to Kansas to work as a cattleman in 1868, then to Denver, Colorado in 1878. He died in Denver on October 30, 1902.
