Biography
Ellsworth Charles Dent (1899-1984) was an educational film consultant. He worked as a visual instruction consultant at Brigham Young University, and was later an executive at Coronet Films.
Ellsworth Charles Dent was born on December 9, 1899 to mother Emma Anna Rake and father William Ellsworth Dent in Kansas in the United States. In 1917, he was registered for the draft and fought in World War I. He then went to school and graduated from Emporia State University and was a prominent part of his fraternity “Sigma Tau Gamma” as a including serving as president of the fraternity. He later would be the “Man of the Year” for his fraternity after serving as the longest president in his fraternity's history. He was the author of books such as “The Audio-Visual Handbook” which helped educators and filmmakers make educational films. He later would work as a visual instruction consultant at Brigham Young university and later an executive at Coronet Films. He married Dorothy M. Adam. He died in 1984 in Sun City, Arizona.
