George Verdak papers, circa 1950 ( b.1923 d.1993 born in Chicago; attended the Art Institute in Chicago; chose dance as a career; joined the Chicago Ballet Repertory Company, where he performed original works by Massine and Nijinska; spent time in Hollywood films; joined the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo; remained with the company until 1952; taught privately; worked with the Minneapolis Symphony under Antal Dorati; went to Butler University; was the artistic director of the Butler Ballet and staged the first American performances of Offenbach's Le Papillion, Adam's Le Diable a Quatre and La Jolie Fille du Gand)
