Helen Banzhaf on June 9, 1952 in Denver, Colorado; attended school in Shaker Heights, Ohio; served in miliary; went to University of Colorado received BA in Philoshopy; went to New York University got MA in Musicology, and University of Utah for PhD in Composition; His composition for carillon was played at the Vatican Pavilion of the Brussels Worlds Fair; at the time of his death he had just finished composing a group of hymn tune settings for the Anglican Church in South Australia; In Salt Lake City, he served at All Saints Episcopal Church, Community of Grace Presbyterian, and Christ Lutheran as organist or choir master.; member of Royal School of Church Music; founded and directed Jr. Choir Camp while he was the organist/choir master at the Church of St. Stephen the Martyr-Edina, Minnesota.)
