Handwritten autobiography, one volume of poetry, three volumes of account books, and two items relating to Manley family genealogy. Manley lived several places in New York State. He delivered newspapers during the American Civil War, saw the funeral train carrying the body of Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), and discussed the murder of "Wild Bill" Hickock. When Manley's father died the elderly man warned him "against the evils that have been his downfall--wine, women, and gambling."
