Christensen family
Biographical History
The Christensen family is a family hailing from the region of Thy (or Thi), Denmark whom relocated to Utah after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.
With the name originally being "Jensen" prior to the 1780s, the Christensens hailed from the Northwestern provinces of Thy, Viborg, and Gettrup in Denmark. Although the majority of the family had spent their time in the provinces up until the mid-1800s, in the mid-1800s Christen Christensen eventually joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - converting his whole family along him.
Eventually, Christen Christensen's family decided to make the trek to Utah, settling in the town of Manti. While making this transition, Christen's son Lauritz married Else Cathrine Andersen on April 22, 1866, also choosing to settle themselves in Sanpete.
In December of 1872, Lauritz and Else had their child Albert. Eventually, Albert married - giving birth to his daughter Virginia Christensen Keeler in 1901. With her husband Daniel M. Keeler, Virgina later worked on gathering family history documents for the Christensen family - later publishing these under the title "Some Christensens Who Came from Thy."

C. C. A. Christensen autobiography and biographies
Typewritten copies of biographies and clippings relating to C. C. A. Christensen (1831-1912). Also included is an autobiography of Christensen that has been translated from the original Danish. Christensen is the most noted Mormon artist who documented much of the Mormon experience through his paintings. He also painted murals to decorate Mormon meeting houses and temples.
Cornell Taylor Christensen photographs and negatives
Album of photographs taken and assembled by Cornell Taylor Christensen between the 1910s and the 1930s. Includes 293 photographs and 62 negatives documenting Christensen's life and activities.
Christensen family photographs
Christensen family photographs, circa 1890-1905 collections contains three photographs and sketches of the Christensen family.
Harold T. Christensen photographs
Collection includes 1114 photographs of Christensen's mission to New Zealand, his family, and his friends. Photographs were taken between the 1920s and the 1970s.
John R. Christiansen family papers
History of the Mormon Church
Genealogies, photocopies of handwritten diaries and articles, family histories, and maps bound in one volume. The materials relate to the Christiansen family members who joined the Mormon Church in Denmark and migrated to Utah. The diaries are by Parley Christiansen (1857-1930), Niels Christian Christiansen (1817-1899), and Christian Christensen (1790-1871) and relate to their conversion to Mormonism, their journey to Utah, and their lives there.
Keeler family papers
Contains transcripts of the books "Some Christensens Who Came from Thy" by Virginia C. Keeler and "Build Thee More Stately" by Daniel A. Keeler alongside historical documents pertaining to the creation of those books and to the history of the Keeler family ranging from letters, photographs, and documents from Brigham Young Academy and Brigham Young University. Also includes material pertaining to Joseph B. Keeler, grandfather of Ellen Keeler Thompson. Dated 1847-1990.
