Administrative History

Hosting Services (1976-1997) was an auxiliary unit at Brigham Young University.

Hosting Services was established in 1976 within the University Relations Division of the university in conjunction with the United States bicentennial and the university's centennial celebrations. It was initially responsible for organizing campus tours, but its responsibilities were later extended to include coordinating special campus events such as groundbreaking ceremonies and visits by General Authorities. Directors included George Bowie (1976-1978), Craig McIllory (1978-1984), Kurt Waldron (1984), and Ronald Clark (1984-1997). In 1997 the unit was reorganized as Public Affairs and Guest Relations.
