Administrative History

The Religious Studies Center (est. 1976) is a research and scholarly publishing institute at Brigham Young University.

The Religious Studies Center was established as a research institute in 1976 within the university's Research Division. The following year it merged with the Ancient Studies Institute, consolidating resources for gospel-related scholarship on campus. In 1983, oversight of the center was transferred to Religious Education, and the it was administered by the dean of Religious Education.
