Administrative History

The Center for Studies of the Family (1990-1999) was a research institute at Brigham Young University.

The Center for Studies of the Family was established in 1990 in a reorganization of the earlier Family and Demographic Research Institute. The center was charged with conducting research and developing programs to strengthen families. The center operated under the direction of the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences. In 1999 it was again reorganized as the Family Studies Center.

Center directors included Bruce A. Chadwick (1990-1996) and Alan J. Hawkins (1997-1999).
