The Department of Instructional Science (1976-1984) was a teaching unit at Brigham Young University.
The department was established in 1976 within the College of Education, and was responsible for responsible for instruction in pedagogy, instructional design, technology, and instructional psychology. The department offered a range of master's and Ph.D. degrees. Department chairs included Harvey B. Black (1976-1978) and Grant V. Harrison (1978-1984). In 1984 the department was reorganized as the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Science.
