Administrative History

The Iron Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was formed following a call for volunteers in December 1850. By the next summer, missionaries had established an iron furnace and foundry in the area of Cedar City, Utah. However, the mission was eventually closed in 1858.
