The Department of Counseling and Special Education (1997-2000) was an instructional unit at Brigham Young University.

The Department of Counseling and Special Education was created in 1997 within the David O. McKay School of Education. The sole chairman of the department was Ronald D. Bingham who served from 1997-2000.The department offered undergraduate and graduate courses in Counseling and Special Education, offering an undergraduate minor in Special Education as well as a Masters in Counseling, School Psychology, Special Education, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology.
