Historical History

NSZZ "Solidarnosc" is an independent and self-governing trade union of Poland.

NSZZ "Solidarnosc" was established as a result of worker protests and was established based on the Gdansk Accords which was signed on August 31, 1980 by the Inter-enterprise Strike Committee and the Government Commission. NSZZ "Solidarnosc" represents aver 700,000 workers representing every industry and service.

Scope and Contents

Contains Polish newspapers. Many are more recent from 2008 to 2010; however, the oversized folders contain original newspapers from 1972 to 1989. These newspapers include Tygodnik Solidarnosc, Gazeta, and Nowy Dzienik. Also of note are several tourism magazines including National Geographic from 1982 highlighting Poland and magazines articles relating to Joanna and/or Soildarity. Dates range from 1972 to 2010.
