The Department of Exercise Sciences (est. 2005) is an instructional unit at Brigham Young University.
The Department of Exercise Sciences was formed in a reorganization of the earlier Department of Physical Education in 2005, and provides instruction in athletic training, exercise science, fitness and wellness management, and physical education/coaching. Department chairs have included Ruel M. Barker (2005-2006) and Larry T. Hall (2006- ). The department was initially under the College of Health and Human Performance, but moved into the College of Life Sciences in 2009.
