Administrative History

The Department of Theatre and Media Arts (1997- ) is an academic unit at Brigham Young University. It provides course instruction on theatre, cinema, artistic criticism and performance skills.

The Department of Theatre and Media Arts was established within the College of Fine Arts and Communications in 1997. Previously, it was known as the Department of Theatre and Film. The Department chairs have included Eric Fielding (1997-1998), Robert A. Nelson (1998-2005), Rodger D. Sorensen (2005-2011), Amy Petersen Jensen (2011-2015), Wade Hollingshaus (2015-2021), and Megan Sanborn Jones (2021- ).
