Administrative History

Financial Services (1967-2001) was a unit of Brigham Young University that oversaw all financial affairs of the university.

Financial Services was established at Brigham Young University in 1967. The director was Lyman J. Durfee (1968-1980). Financial Services was over all financial affairs of the university, including scholarships, grants, purchasing, assets, and payroll.

Brigham Young University general catalog of courses, 1968-1971: p. 68-69 (Financial Services is responsible for the collection, disbursing, recording, and reporting of all University moneys. The following departments have been set up to facilitate these services: Treasurer's Office, Accounting Office, Payroll Department, Internal Auditing Department, Budget and Procedures Office, Financial Aids Office)
