Ellison-White Lyceum and Chautauqua Association
Biography
The Ellison-White Lyceum and Chautauqua Association was established in 1910 by Clarence H. White and J. R. Ellison in Boise, Idaho. The association began as the Ellison-White Lyceum, but in 1920 it was moved to Portland, Oregon, where it became the Ellison-White Lyceum and Chautauqua Association. This organization was part of the “Chautauqua” movement that shared knowledge and provided entertainment via dance, music, lectures, drama, etc.
