Biography

The St. George Utah Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was established in the 1800s in Southwestern Utah and was partly responsible for the establishment of Dixie Academy

The St. George Utah Stake was established in southwest Utah November 7 1869 and is the oldest stake in Washington county. The stake was partially responsible for the establishment of the Dixie Academy. It was home to a "United Order" in the 1870s.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated April 11, 1874, and addressed to the St. George Stake of the Mormon Church in St. George, Utah. Young writes about establising the "United Order" in St. George.
