Biography

The Emery Stake Academy was founded in 1889 and was the first educational institution to offer a high school level education in southeastern Utah. It was sold in 1922 to the Emery County School District and became Central High School.

Handwritten reminiscences. The date of its composition is uncertain. Driggs writes about his teaching activities in the music departments of several academies owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Arizona. He also relates his experiences as a student at Brigham Young University.

Handwritten minutes of the meetings of the Emery Stake Academy Board of Education kept by the clerk, William John Seely of Castle Dale, Utah. The meetings were about Mormon Church education in Emery County, Utah. Issues included facilities and curriculum.
