Administrative History

The Belgium Brussels/Netherlands Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1963-) is one of the Church's many missions in Western Europe.

The Belgium Brussels Mission, previously known as the Franco-Belgian Mission, was established in 1963 and received its present-day name in 1974. The mission had 1000 members at the time of its creation. The mission currently encompasses the Netherlands and part of Belgium.

In 2000, Belgium joined the Europe West Area and in 2002 the Belgium Brussels Mission was consolidated with the Netherlands Amsterdam Mission to create the Belgium Brussels/Netherlands Mission.

Of the Western European missions, it has experienced the greatest congregational decline, but the highest Church outreach thanks to the countries' small geographic size and urbanized population.
