Biography

Little Colorado Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was established in 1878 and dissolved in 1887.

The Little Colorado stake was formed along the Little Colorado river on January 27, 1878 as the first stake in Arizona with Lot Smith as president. It was dissolved in 1887 with the creations of the St. Johns Arizona Stake and Snowflake Arizona Stake. The stake was involved in missionary work among the Indians.

Photocopy of typescript. One-page statistical report summarizing Mormon population growth and decline in the settlements along the Little Colorado River in eastern Arizona. Also included are some explanatory notes at the bottom of the page made by the typist.
