Administrative History

The Deseret Sunday School Union (1872-1971) was an auxiliary program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that provided Sunday religious instruction to members of the Church.

The Deseret Sunday School Union was established in 1872 in a renaming of the earlier Parent Sunday School Union. The organization provided Sunday religious instruction in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as support services such as curriculum development, teacher training, and library services. The Deseret Sunday School Union was renamed the Sunday School during a reorganization of Church auxiliaries in 1971.

Film was released in 1955, and was produced by Brigham Young University Motion Picture Department for the Sunday School board of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was designed as a training video for Sunday School teachers by showing the training needed to teach well.The collection has one copy on a film reel.
