Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a handwritten diary. McBride left on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the spring of 1857, and he went with a handcart company to the east. He later got passage to England where he served his mission.

Josiah Rogerson autobiography and certificates

Collection includes a photocopy of an autobiography prepared by Josiah Rogerson, a short account of his experience in the Martin Handcart Company, citizenship papers, and two other certificates. The materials date from between 1841 and 1878.

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries. The original items are housed in two boxes while the photocopies of these materials are housed in three. There are many gaps in the entries including a sixteen-year gap from 1861 to 1877. Savage writes about his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to "Siam" (Thailand) from 1852 to 1856. Fanny Fry Simons autobiography

Scope and Contents The first folder of the collection holds a photocopy and typescript of the original manuscript; the second holds 5 pages of the original manuscript (the first two and the last three) that were detached from the original and were in brittle condition; and the third folder holds a box containing the original manuscript, which measures 23 x 14.5 cm and has approximately 50 pages, written on both sides.
