There are also letters written by Mitchell's father, Frederick A. Mitchell, and Caine's brother John T. Caine Jr. Most of the letters discuss personal matters and family business, including the local silk industry. Dated 1873-1903.

Handwritten and signed letter dated 19 Sept. 1889 and addressed to Samuel Russell of Logan, Utah. The item was written in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mitchell asks Russell to come to Skull Valley, Utah to operate a steam sawmill for the Hawaiian members of the Mormon Church who had settled there.
