Handwritten and signed letter, addressed to T. William Harris, dated 17 Jan. 1834, and composed in Charleston, South Carolina. Thaddeus writes to his son about family matters and their shared interest in collecting birds, squirrels, mice, and moles.

Scope and Contents Two handwritten and signed letters. One is dated 5 Sept. 1894 and is addressed to "Dear Sir" (probably Barton O. Aylesworth) in which Burroughs responds to a request for biographical information. Also included is an envelope probably in which the item was sent. The other letter is dated 2 April of an unspecified year and is addressed to "Miss Gertrude Stroham" (?) in which Burroughs tells her she may quote certain passages from his works.
