The collection includes 73 items, including letters between Bingham and Sarah while she was in Kanesville and he was in St. Louis earning money for them to go West; letters between Sarah Bement and Ira and William Mudd discussing payment; and letters between members of the Bement family.

Photocopies of a typewritten autobiography. Cazier was born in Ordham County, Kentucky. His family moved to Illinois in 1841 where he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1845. He later moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1850. He settled at Nephi, Utah, in 1851 and later married polygamously. Cazier also writes about his family life.

Handwritten autobiography and a photocopy of the item. Also included is a typescript of an autobiography. The handwritten manuscript is a running account similar to a diary but is seldom broken down into daily entries. Day writes about joining the Mormon Church in England and his migration to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and later to Utah. He lived in Salt Lake Valley, Spanish Fork, and Circle Valley, Utah. He participated in the Salmon River Mission for the Mormon Church in Idaho.

Collection includes photocopies of correspondence collected by Elmer Ewing written by Mormon pioneers. Includes the letters of Temperance Bond Mack, Christeen Golden Kimball, and Nathan Calhoun Cheney describing their travels to Salt Lake City and other events in Mormon history. One letter by Cheney also includes a description of events surrounding the death of Joseph Smith.

Photocopies of handwritten diaries. Harley came to Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1848 and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1852. He settled in Nephi, Utah, where he was a farmer and served in numerous local positions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Harley writes about his daily activities often in short notes. Also included are financial records from 1846 to 1868.

Handwritten letter postmarked 20 June of an unstated year. Holden writes to his brother, Nathan Holden of New Salem, Massachusetts, to whom he has not written in three years. He writes about family matters and the conditon of the Mormons in Iowa.

Photocopy of a typewritten biography of Elizabeth E. Robertson, illustrated with pen and ink drawings. She was a Scottish convert to the Mormon Church who died shortly after arriving in America.

Photocopy of a handwritten and initialed letter addressed to Henry Sabey of Mt. Knickerbocker, Illinois, and dated 16 Nov. 1848. Miller writes concerning conditions of the Mormons at Council Bluffs, Iowa, what they have heard about the Salt Lake Valley of Utah, and describes the baptism of Oliver Cowdery, an early leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who had been cut off years earlier.

Murdock wrote about his early life and his converstion to the Mormon Church in 1830. He followed that faith to Kirtland, Ohio; Missouri; and Illinois. Photocopies of handwritten and typewritten letters with photocopies of pen-and-ink sketches of buildings constructed by Mormons in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The buildings depicted are the Mormon Tabernacle, Wick's Mill, and Dagger's Saw Mill. One of the letters is dated 1902. The date of the composition of the sketches is unknown.
