Collection includes 115 photographs of Mormon missionaries, taken in various missions around the world between the 1900s and the 1910s. Includes photographs of the Southern States Mission, the British Mission, the Dutch Mission, the Eastern States Mission, as well as from the Netherlands, New Zealand, Hawaii, Alabama, California, Florida, Indiana, and Vermont.
Photographs of Nara Visa, New Mexico
Twenty-one post cards with photographs of Nara Visa, New Mexico, in 1909 which include people and buildings of the town. Nara Visa, New Mexico, was founded in 1901 when it became a water station and cattle shipping point on the CRI&P Railroad. The first settlers lived in a boxcar--but by 1902 Nara Visa had two buildings. Nara Visa creek flows through the village. In the 1880's a sheepherder named Narvaez lived here. English speaking settlers corrupted the name to Nara Vista.

Collection includes stereographs, photographs, and a postcard from the era of the Philippine American War. Images include portraits of soldiers and landscapes. Many of the stereographs appear to have been made for popular distribution.

Collection possibly includes matte collodion silver, direct carbon (Fresson), selenium toned gelatin silver, bromoil transfer, letterpress halftone (black and white as well as color), and possibly offset lithography. Dated approximately 1870-1929.

Collection includes ten photographs of individuals associated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These include Spencer W. Kimball, temple workers at the Logan Temple, the Hyrum Stake Sunday School Board, and others.

Collection includes 138 photographs, 43 postcards, one tintype, and a newspaper with images of Western landscapes and public figures, with a particular focus on Colorado. Original images were taken between the 1840s and the 1920s.
