Collection of Civil War photographs

Scope and Contents Collection contains eighty-one images of people and soldiers from the era of the American Civil War. Includes engravings of Union and Confederate leaders. Many of the photographs of soldiers in the 77th Regiment, New York Infantry. Also includes copy prints of the original images.

Scope and Contents Collection includes three photograph albums containing seventy-two production and publicity photographs and scene stills, three reels of motion picture film, and two one-inch and one one-half-inch videotape copies of the original film. Also included are one three-quarter-inch videotape, one one-half-inch videotape, five DVDs, and digital audio tape of the soundtrack produced during the restoration of the film.

Scope and Contents Collection is composed of 69 lantern slides dating from approximately 1888 to 1950. The majority of the slides are photographs of paintings by John Hafen. There are also two slides of a painting by Rose Hartwell and two slides of paintings by John Hafen's son, Virgil Hafen. There are also two portraits on John Hafen, one by Will Vawter and the other photographer not identified. There is also a photograph taken by George Edward Anderson of John Hafen's son, Joseph, and John's wife, Thora.

Scope and Contents Movie stills, 1910-1980 collection contains about 20,000 photographs of actors and stills from movies. About 1,486 are people and 18,514 are movie stills. The collection includes a wide variety of people and movies from Alfred Hitchcock and Marilyn Monroe. There are also some behind the scenes photographs.

The photographs are individual portraits from a variety of photographic studios, including those of George Edward Anderson, C. R. Savage, Fox & Symons, and T. E. Daniels.
