Hoffman Birney bibliography
Typewritten bibliography with handwritten notes. Also included are newspaper clippings relating to books and publications. The items relate to the American West.
The Black Wheel
Galley proofs and pasted proofs with handwritten corrections of two novels by Merritt. "The Black Wheel" was completed by Hannes Bok (1914-1964), an American author and illustrator, after the death of Merritt. The book was published in 1948. Also included are proofs of "The Fox Woman" by Merritt, which was published in 1946.
D.J. Butler papers
Contains author D.J. Butler's manuscript drafts with editor's revisions, correspondence, promotional materials for novels such as ephemera, posters, a tote bag, postcards, and electronic drafts and research materials. Dated 2014 to 2017.
The country editor
Typewritten, signed draft of the article "The Country Editor" as submitted by White to "Harper's" magazine. Also included is the printed article in the magazine. The draft has editorial changes made in White's own hand. The article is about life in small towns in America and the impact the newspaper editor there has on the communiaty.
Vardis Fisher plays
Typewritten copies of five original plays averaging 25 pages each. The items include: "Voices of Spring," "Dream Shadow," "In the Valley of the Stars," "Ersatz Marriages," and "Comedy of Errors."
David H. Keller short stories
Typewritten short stories in five volumes which entail six stories. One of the items is a handwritten draft of the story "Stenographer's Hands." The stories are: "The White City," "Unto Us a Child is Born," "The Growing Wall," "The Time Projector," and "Lillith's Left Hand."
Thomas McGuane papers
Contains two postcards, cards, and letters to Thomas McGuane congratulating him on the success of his work; a five-page introduction of Thomas McGuane written by Geoffrey Wolff; a copy of a check for $300 for the publishing of an excerpt from "Panama;" and many thank you letters for articles McGuane wrote in "Sports Illustrated."
