Many are letters written to his family members in the holiday season, and the speeches and articles were often given at Brigham Young University-sponsored events or published in church magazines such as the Ensign. The letters were compiled by Clark's daugher, transcribed, and put in chronological order following his death, dated 1956 to 1977.
