His diary covers the time he served as a missionary for the LDS Church in Great Britain from 1857 to 1858. Many of the items relate to Margetts' career in the theater, to the Salt Lake Theater, and to drama in Utah. Handwritten entries in a music book. The item contains what seem to be various bugle calls used by "Lt. Phil Margetts" in 1853 probably with the Utah Militia. Also included is a postcard from Elbert Duncan Thomas to Margetts. The item was sent from Japan and wishes Margetts a happy birthday.
