The letter is primarily regarding Sherman paying taxes on Tuttle's property in Nauvoo and Commerce, Illinois, including some for property he owned on Joseph Smith's Addition in Nauvoo. Dated November 19, 1847.

Sterling Mining and Milling Company promissory notes
Photocopies of typed and signed promissory notes dated October 1895 and March 1898. The notes are directed to the Commercial National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah, and to Zion's Savings Bank and Trust Company. The items were signed by prominent Mormon Church officials including apostles and presidents of that religion.

Typewritten and signed letters dated 17 May and 5 June 1916. The items are addressed respectively to Frank Cannon and John M. Cannon both of Salt Lake City, Utah. Strain writes concerning the Ruby Valley Land Company. Strain wants to know the strength of the company and the outlook for its succes. Apparently, the company was established with the intention of attracting Mormon settlers.
