Freeze conducted research on rumors about an attempted bombing on the Hawaii temple at the Pearl Harbor invasion. Included are stories in which a Japanese bomber repeatedly attempts to bomb the temple but finds his controls do not work, and accounts in which the temple disappears or becomes hidden in clouds. The project was written for Dr. Rudy's American Folklore class taught at Brigham Young University in 1999.
