The three letters of this collection were written on 1, 12, and 23 March 1962. The first and last of these were written by Bennett to William M. Timmins, Jr., (1936- ), and the second was written by Timmins. The letters deal with the topics of free trade and the lead-zinc mining industry.

Ledger containing information as to the expense accounts of Storm A. Bickers, including various entries related to the construction of the Schoharie Turnpike. Also includes newspaper clippings, leaves, and drawings interspersed within its pages. The ledger was used between circa 1805 to 1852.
Stephen Elder bill for Joseph Smith, Jr.
Handwritten bill from Stephen Elder to Joseph Smith, first president of the Mormon Church, for goods sold to Smith in March-July 1840, apparently for sale in Joseph Smith's store. The manuscript includes three entries for tobacco. The item was filed against Smith's estate on 27 May 1846, with a total of $2.89 interest added to the bill.
Bill sent to Elijah Thomas (Salt Lake Mail Company)
Handwritten bill of $437.84 for food and dry goods delivered between March 22 and July 9, 1857 to various agents. Payment was received 1859 August 10.

Way bills, freight bills, and general bills of lading at Bingham Station in Utah. The items were issued in 1895, 1896, and 1902.

Printed certificates with handwritten entries. All of the documents deal with matters of finance.
The Black Wheel
Galley proofs and pasted proofs with handwritten corrections of two novels by Merritt. "The Black Wheel" was completed by Hannes Bok (1914-1964), an American author and illustrator, after the death of Merritt. The book was published in 1948. Also included are proofs of "The Fox Woman" by Merritt, which was published in 1946.
Blackbird Copper-Gold Mining Company note
A typed note from the Blackbird Copper-Gold Mining Company, Salt Lake City, Utah, promising to pay John E. Du Bois $1,500. It is signed by the treasurer, Charles J. North, and company president P. A. H. Franklin, and dated October 15, 1900. Includes a fifty cent and twenty-five cent stamp.
