This collection consists of a scrapbook kept by an unknown Mormon missionary while serving in the British Mission. It contains mission rules, quotes from Mormon Church and governmental leaders, jokes, poems, and songs. The purpose of the book was to be inspirational to its creator. Morst of the entries were typewritten, while the rest were written by hand.

George Crane autobiography

Handwritten autobiography composed near the year 1912. Crane was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after he heard Orson Pratt (1811-1881), apostle for that religion, speak in England in 1864. He later served as president of the Wandsworth Branch of the Church. He migrated to Utah. Crane also writes about his courtship and marriage and about his mission to England from 1878 to 1880.

John Evans diary and autobiography

Typescripts of diary and an autobiography. In his 1881 diary, Evans describes his activities as a Mormon missionary in Wales. In his personal history, he writes about his conversion to the Mormon faith in Great Britain, his migration to Utah, and his experiences in Brigham City, Utah.

Alma Johnson diaries

Handwritten diaries for the years 1883-1885 and 1894-1896. Johnson kept these records while serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Great Britain. Two of the volumes are about the first mission while four are about the second.

Sidney J. Ottley papers

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, diaries, financial ledgers, newsletters, an autobiography, greeting cards, and a scrapbook. The diaries relate to Ottley's missions for the Church in New Zealand and Great Britain and to his service as mission president also in New Zealand starting in 1951. The correspondence is between family members. The photographs in the scrapbook were taken during his mission presidency in the 1950s.
