Scope and Contents

Materials include are photocopied pages from Sherman Beck Sheffield's Family History, outlining some of the experiences throughout his life. Also a photocopied photograph of Sherman and his brother Russell, both in the U.S. Navy in World War II, in uniform at the Oaknoll Hospital in California in 1946. Sheffield served in the 12th Navy District during World War II from 1945-1946 as a Hospital Corpsman First Class at the Oaknoll Hospital in Oakland, California. Dated approximately 1998.

Kinsella under the title "The Dream Field," but later changed by the publisher) by Phil Alden Robinson, labeled "revised final draft." This item was photocopied from a microfilm copy of a typed biography. Mary Shuttleworth was born in England in 1832 and married Joseph Wild in 1854. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migreated in Utah in 1859 where they settled in American Fork. She was a kind worman who loved her children. She died in 1902.

Photocopy of microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Lydia Thornton was born in 1830 in Canada. Her family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She migrated to Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois; and to Utah in 1852. She settled in American Fork, Utah, married Joshua Adams, had 10 children, and died in 1901.

Shurtleff while serving as a mission president in the Southeast Asia Mission. The materials deal with the arrest of two missionaries serving in Thailand for desecrating a Buddha statue by sitting on its head. The missionaries, Joseph K.
