Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript of an interview. Anngady was interviewed by T. Pat Matthews in 1937 as part of the Federal Writer's Project for the Works Progress Administration. The item includes handwritten corrections. Anngady was educated on her master's plantation and went to Shaw Collegiate Institute after the Civil War. She gives a detailed description of what her husband told her of African tribal life. She talks about "savages," witch doctors, tribal kings, and...
