Arza Adams autobiographies and diaries

Photocopies of microfilm copies of handwritten diaries. Adams joined the Mormon Church in 1836 and served as missionary for that faith in Canada. He moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, and worked on the Nauvoo Temple. He came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1849.

John Adams diaries

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. Adams lived in Oakley, Idaho, and writes about his daily routine. He was concerned about his health, the weather, and farm work. He also tells about various meetings for the Mormon Church.

Scope and Contents Contains photocopies and transcripts of letters and postcards between Alvin and Amelia Smith, including correspondence from their courtship and during his missionary service in England. The letters discuss routine aspects of missionary work, such as finances and accommodations, investigators, companions and conferences, local attitudes, and events. Also includes descriptions of life in the Smith family, such as births and deaths, weddings, financial circumstances, and events of daily life....

Henry William Bigler diary

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. The item is "extracts from missionary experiences. Copied from original diary owned by Delbert Bigler, Provo, Utah." The extracts start in 1853 when Bigler was on a mission for the Mormon Church in Hawaii. He writes about a smallpox epidemic and missionary experiences. He returned to Utah in 1855.
