Biographical sketches of the life of William Grant

Handwritten autobiography and diary. Grant wrote his autobiography in 1882. Subsequently he kept a journal in the same volume. The diary consists mainly of monthly summaries of Grant's activities. Grant writes about his conversion to the Mormon Church in England, his migration to American Fork, Utah, and his activities as a businessman and musician. Grant also comments on Mormon polygamy.

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Mary Ann Radman Green was born in 1835 in England and died in 1903 in American Fork, Utah. Charles D. Green was born in 1838 and died in 1905 in Eureka, Utah. Charles came to Utah with Johnston's Army. He later joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and settled in Alpine, Utah. Charles married Mary Ann Radman, but they had no children. They adopted Loren Fisher Green.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten letter. Greenwood wrote a letter to her grandchildren that was later typed by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Greenwood wrote about her ealy life, migration to Utah in 1847, and gave her testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Ellen Julian Greenwood was born in 1854 in England. Her parents were converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The family migrated to Utah in 1862. Ellen married Samuel Greenwood in 1875 and died in 1917.

The manuscript was read by Jennie Greenwood, William's grand daugther-in-law, at a meeting of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Utah County, Utah. Greenwood writes about his life to the year 1848 and then starts a diary which has many gaps. Greenwood was born in England and later moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, with the Mormons. The biography of Jasper Melvin Hammond (1882-1958) was written "by his wife and daughters" sometime after his death. Jasper, often called Jesse, was born in Providence, Utah but was raised in Marysville, Idaho.
