Typewritten biographies of two persons with copies. The dates of the composition of these materials are uncertain. The items are biographies of Tamer Washburn Washburn (1805-1886) and Flora Clarinda Gleason Washburn (1819- ). Each person was a Mormon pioneer to Utah. Flora lived in Manti, Utah.

Typescript (plus carbon copy) of an autobiography written by Watkins which gives a life history from his birth until his arrival in Utah in 1852. Also includes a typewritten biography of Watkins from 1852 to his death, written by his daughter, Aurilla Watkins Whipple. Also includes a typescript of Watkins' certificate of United States citizenship and a letter from the donor.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten manuscript. The item is a biography of Mary Emma Lowder Webb, who was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1863. Her family moved to Parowan, Utah, in 1863 and then to Panguitch, Utah, in 1864. The family moved to Paragoonah, Utah, in 1866 because of the Black Hawk War with Ute Indians. At the end of hostilities, the family returned to Parowan. Most of the account is told in the words of Mary Emma Lowder Webb which was probably edited by Luella...

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Martha Carless was born in England in 1831 and married William Rawlings Webb in 1854. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1860, migrated to Utah in 1867, and settled in American Fork. She died in 1905.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed biography. William R. Webb was born in England in 1829, married Martha Carless in 1854, and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1860. He migrated to Utah in 1867 and settled in American Fork. He took a second wife, returned to England in 1886 as a missionary for the Mormon Church, and died in 1915. Also included is a poem written by Webb to "Sister Ellen Barrett on Her Fiftieth Birthday."

Includes two linear feet of unedited typed transcripts including the years 1844-1846 and 1874-1920. Her entries are daily, tell of her activities, and often present her opinions and impressions as well. The accounts are often lengthy and detailed. The 1882 diary also includes entries by Well's daughter, Louisa.

Biography of Eliza Faulkner Welsh

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten autobiography. Eliza Faulkner Welsh was born in Halifax County, Nova Scotia, in 1843. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1855 and left for Utah the same year. She tells about the hardships of the migration to Utah and the many deaths from Cholera in her family. She died in American Fork, Utah, in 1927.

Peter Mastin Wentz diary

Typescript of a diary. Wentz left Binghamton, New York, in 1853. He travelled to Dunkirk, New York, and then to Ashley, Indiana. He took steamboats on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers in 1854 and described the buildings in Nauvoo, Illinois. He later settled in St. Louis, Missouri, where he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1855. He migrated to Utah the same year.

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten dual biography. John Wesley Phillips was born in New Jersey in 1843, migrated to Utah in 1862, and settled in American Fork. He married Eliza Ann Ebbey in 1867. She came to Utah in 1848. John died in 1899.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a dual biography by an unknown author. William Weston was born in 1836 in Canad and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1855. He later migrated to Utah and settled in American Fork. He met and married Hanna A. Wilbert, but they had no children. They later adopted Lemuel. William died in 1905.
