James Samuel Page Bowler autobiography
Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typescript. The item is a biography of James Samuel Page Bowler written at an unknown date, probably around 1921. Bowler was born in England in 1845 and describes his life as a Mormon in that country. He migrated to Utah in 1880 and settled in Hebron, Utah. He worked as a shoemaker, was elected a justice of the peace, and taught school at Fort Hamblin, Utah. He moved to Parowan, Utah, in 1894 and then to Gunlock, Utah.

Thomas Jefferson Jones autobiography and a biography
Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. One two-paged item is an autobiography of Jones. The other item is a two-paged biography of Jones by an unknown person at an unknown date. Jones was born on 6 September 1838 in Pittsfield, Illinois. He came to Willard, Utah, and later settled in Panaca, Nevada, and Washington and Parowan, Utah. Jones served as bishop and stake president in the Mormon Church and was prosecuted for polygamy.
Brief sketch of the life of Hyrum Lenny
Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typescript. The item is a "brief sketch of the life of Hyrum Lenny, written by his wife and dictated by him July 1933." Hyrum was born in Parowan, Utah, 26 Aug. 1862. He married Mary Margaret Wodbury. He had 11 children, 9 sons and 2 daughters. Hyrum visited relatives, worked in Silver Reef, Utah, moved to St. George, Utah, and held numerous positions with the Mormon Church. An index to the item is included.
Short history of William Campbell McGregor
Photocopy of a typewritten biography of William Campbell McGregor by an unknown author. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1833 and married Sara Fish Smith in 1857. He joined the Mormon Church in 1850 and came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1854 and later moved to Parowan, Utah. He served as a missionary for the Mormon Church in 1876 and 1880-1. McGregor raised a Navajo Indian child, Jennette, and participated in Utah's Black Hawk War. He died in 1913.
